OAKVILLE EDGE SYNCHRONIZED SKATING TEAMS
Synchronized Skating is a dynamic team-based sport which provides skaters with the opportunity to advance their skills by working with a team. Teams typically consist of 8-20 skaters, executing a program in unison to an energetic musical selection.
Skate Oakville, through the Oakville Edge, offers Synchronized Skating Programs for skaters in the STARSkate programs. We have 8 teams for the 2013/14 season: Beginner I, Beginner II, Elementary B, Elementary A, Juvenile, Novice, Senior, and Adult III.
THE SYNCHRONIZED SKATING SEASON
The Oakville Edge season starts in April with on-ice Open Houses geared towards matching new members with the appropriate team within our organization.
After the upcoming season's teams are formed, weekly practices are held in May and June for stroking and to develop Synchro Skills.
Regular practices start in October which combine off-ice program run-throughs and fitness with on-ice skill building and program development.
The competition season is kicked-off with the annual photo day and Gala. The Gala is an exciting event in November that includes all Oakville Edge teams exhibiting their programs with various guest teams skating as well.
Competitions occur between December and March with the season wrapping up just before March Break.
