As one of the largest skating clubs in Canada with a diverse membership and coaching staff, the Board of Directors alongside our Skating Director underwent a review process of our entire organization structure, but in particular our Office Support roles, in an effort to continually improve in addressing the needs of our club and its members.
This review process has now been completed and we are starting to make several changes over the next quarter, as follows:
Carlie Dixon will be working as the right hand to our Skating Director with the title Program Coordinator. She has become very knowledgeable in program scheduling and delivery and will be taking on new projects under Joni McPhail’s direction. This will also allow the Office to better support the various Program Directors and Coordinators to increase the success of their programs (Learn to Skate, STARSkate, Synchronized Skating, Competitive Dance and Competitive Singles).
A new role has been created: Member Services and Marketing Coordinator. This role will report to Joni, with a dotted line to the Board, and will be responsible for Customer Service, Marketing (including the website and social media) and a variety of other membership-related tasks. The complete job description is available in the posting on the Skate Ontario website here: Skate Oakville Job Posting
We are looking to recruit a customer service experienced, well-organised individual in this role. If you know anyone who might be interested, please ask them to take a look at the posting.
Kim Theobald will continue in her current role, but will now report to the Board, and Wendy Jenkins will continue to support our membership during the later hours. Carlie will continue in her current role until the new position is filled.
This process will take time to be fully implemented and we ask for your patience and support as we work through this.
President, Skate Oakville
