SKATE OAKVILLE COMPETITION

An invitation is extended to all eligible skaters in good standing at Skate Oakville to participate in this competition.  This competition will be held as much as possible in accordance with the rules of Skate Canada and special guidelines approved for these Area Competitions, however not all officials may be fully certified.

  • Results of this competition will NOT be used to determine Ice Show features/solos this year.
  • Test Qualifications as of Nov 12, 2014.
  • Events with only one entry will not be run.
  • Skaters may skate up.
  • Two or more male entries in a category will skate in their own group.
  • Fees are non-refundable and are $5 per category per skater payable when registering.
  • Entry Deadline is Tuesday December 2 2014
  1. Freeskate CategoriesSkaters are only permitted to enter one Freeskate event. Skaters must not have competed Pre Novice or higher Freeskate at the 2015 Sectionals Competition.

  1. Creative Freeskate - These events are intended to be entertaining and will be judged on their theatrical and artistic qualities. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation of the music.  The music is supplied and skaters will hear the musical selection 3 times immediately prior to their event.  This event is to be done by the skaters without coach choreography. Music time for all categories will be 1 minute.

  1. Shadow Pairs - The elements can be performed in any order but must be done in unison or together as a pair. These skills will be performed in a sequence in the form of a solo. Music is optional. Program must not exceed 1 minute.  Credit will be given to teams who perform with creativity and in unison. Skaters must register with a partner.
