Who will be there?

AVA ZIEGLER

Ava is a US National Senior Women's Competitor. In 2022, she placed second in the junior women's event and was the 2023 ISU NHK Trophy Champion less than two years later. With an exciting combination of power and grace, Ava is a rising star in figure skating.  Ava is coached by Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov.  We are very excited to welcome her to our club for this seminar.

LARISA SELEZNEVA AND OLEG MAKAROV

Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov were two-time European Champions, World Silver and Bronze medalists, and Olympic Bronze medalists in 1984. They currently coach at the Hudson Valley Figure Skating Club in Newburgh, New York, and we are thrilled that they will be coming to Oakville to share their knowledge, experience, and passion.

JULIE MARCOTTE

Julie Marcotte, a former competitive skater turned choreographer, has left an indelible mark on figure skating. Her coaching has influenced skaters and competitors across the globe, including world champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, Rika Miura and Ryuichi Kihara, and Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps. Julie's visits to Oakville are always a treat, as she brings her energy, creative movement, and love for skating.

ANDREW POJE

Andrew Poje is a Canadian Ice dancer with partner Kaitlyn Weaver. Kaitlyn and Andrew are three-time Canadian Dance Champions and two-time World bronze medalists. Andrew's edges and skills classes break down the most basic skills, making them challenging and fun. We are excited to have Andrew join us again for our seminar this year.

THE PROGRAM:

We will have on-ice classes covering technical jumps and spins, edges, skills and creative movement.  There will be off-ice classes that will include dance/movement, conditioning and goal setting. It will be a busy time and a great opportunity to learn from some amazing presenters.

It is going to be a busy but amazing opportunity.  We are looking forward to seeing you there!
