ANNOUNCEMENT OF RETIREMENT: JONI MCPHAIL

Under Joni’s leadership over the past 17 years, the club has experienced remarkable growth and success. Notable achievements include significant expansion of each of our programs, the move to our current facility and building provincial, national and international success within the club. This was no small feat, requiring dedication, vision, and a steadfast commitment to maintaining the spirit and excellence of Skate Oakville, both on and off the ice.

Beyond these accomplishments, Joni has played a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, enhancing member engagement, and mentoring countless athletes, coaches, and volunteers. She has been instrumental in shaping the club’s strategic direction and ensuring its continued success.

While we are saddened to see Joni move on, we are immensely grateful for her outstanding service and dedication. We are confident that the strong foundation she helped build will continue to support Skate Oakville’s future growth.  Joni will be assisting the club over the next few months in a consultative role ensuring a clean transition.

The Skate Oakville team, led by Mark Bradshaw, will continue to build on the success that Joni has built over the past 17 years, with the impossible task of trying to fill her skates.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and the entire Skate Oakville community, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Joni for her exceptional contributions. We wish her all the best in this next chapter of her life.

Sincerely,

Derek Saunders
