Our Competitive Dance program is under the direction of Mark Bradshaw. Mark is a former International competitive Ice dancer. Besides working with our competitive dancers, Mark also works with the competitive singles and pairs skaters enhancing skating skills.
COMPETITIVE DANCE – by invitation
The competitive dance program includes sessions and development for both dance teams and competitive solo dance. Participation in this program is by invitation. Skaters wishing to participate in the competitive dance program should contact Skate Oakville directly.
Fees
Competitive Dance fees are based on the length of the session, how many weeks the session runs, and whether or not any coaching is included on the session.
Mandatory Membership Fees

Frequently Asked Questions
Is previous skating experience required to join Competitive Ice Dance?
Yes. For Junior Dance: Skaters must pass all their preliminary dances, be between the ages 7 and 10-years, and interested in pursuing competitive dance. For Competitive Dance: Skaters must be part of a dance team that is pursuing competitive ice dance or preparing to compete in "Gold or Open Solo Short Dance," they must also be registered on a minimum of 2 other STARSkate sessions.
Does Competitive Ice Dancing distract from singles skating?
No, this is why skaters must be registered for a minimum of 2 STARSkate sessions outside of the competitive ice dance program. We encourage skaters to continually develop on their skills, as well as learn new ones.
