Coaching background
I’ve been coaching for 20 years, 15 years in the Thornhill/Richmond hill area and 5 years on the competitive coaching staff at Skate Oakville. My main focus in Oakville is the Skate Oakville competitive program.
Competition coaching background
I’ve coached at the COS Sectional championships every year since 2007, Skate Ontario Championships every year since 2011 and Skate Canada Challenge in 2015. I’ve also had the Adult Silver National Champion in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
I attend competitions all over Ontario. I have also travelled to coach at competitions all over the country as well as some in the U.S.
I specialize in competitive skating, jump technique, spin technique, off ice jump training, mental training and competition preparation.
I currently coach all levels, from Star 1 to Senior Ladies.
I have Section Level Technical Specialist and I am also certified to judge Star 1 4 events.
I was a Junior competitive skater with gold tests in freeskate and skills.
Coaching Philosophy:
I believe every athlete has their own unique learning style and goals. The key to creating a successful athlete is understanding their learning style and working with their individual goals.
I believe strong basics and mental training should be taught at a young age. I want my athletes to have the best preparation to achieve their goals in skating and for the rest of their lives.
